Famous Films at Freemasons'!

Freemasons' Hall is brimming with history, dating all the way back to 1933. However, when you think of this history, I'm sure that The Muppets is the last thing that you think of! This history extends beyond what it is best known for as a meeting place for the Freemasons', even making it to Hollywood. The venue has featured in over 40 movies, TV shows and music videos, highlighting its popularity as a filming location, perhaps due to the maintenance of many of its original Art Deco features. We are proud to offer exclusive Christmas parties at two spaces in the venue, The Grand Temple and The Masquerade Club. Read on to see some of the buildings most famous cameos!

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (2005)

In 2005, Freemasons’ Hall made its Hollywood debut in ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy'(2005). The film uses the Grand Temple as a spaceship and office for space pirate, Humma Kavula, and sees Martin Freeman’s character travel into space after aliens devastate the Earth. Although this venue can’t really take you into space, we can promise that this venue will impress you with the sheer scale and grandeur of its setting. See what your Christmas party could look like at the Grand Temple here.
